Why Gourmet?

A frequently asked question from educators is “Why do you use the name Gourmet Curriculum?”

Response: If you go out to a common restaurant, you can order things like steak, chicken fried steak, or hamburgers. But if you go to a gourmet restaurant, you expect a gourmet meal such as filet mignon, á la oscar, served with fresh asparagus and hollandaise sauce and creme bruléé for dessert. So it is with Gourmet Curriculum. There are educational companies that serve similar curriculums, but Gourmet Curriculum, like the gourmet meal, goes beyond the regular “menu” and serves elite, differentiated dishes that engage students in their learning.
